The Open University of China (OUC) held a work conference on the 2022 Provision of “1+7” Support for Qinghai Open University (Qinghai OU) on 17 November.

The report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) pointed out that “we will promote the digitalisation of education and build a society and country of learning where lifelong learning is pursued by all” and restated that “we will pursue a proactive national strategy in response to population ageing”.

In the 2022 autumn term, the Open University of China (OUC) improved the livestreaming teaching facilities for the teachers’ mobile terminals to enhance the effectiveness of live teaching.

From 10 to 13 November 2022, the finals of the 8th China International “Internet +” College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was held online.

The 10th Beijing Calligraphy Competition for College Students concluded on 6 November 2022. Xie Jianli, first-prize winner, is a student in the Calligraphy undergraduate programme Spring 2022 at the Experimental School of the Open University of China (OUC).

Recently, a cloud-class programme named “Sangyu Jinhui”, dedicated to lifelong learning for older adults and jointly launched by the Open University of China (OUC) and the Financial Management Department of the National Government Offices Administration, was listed as one of the “Lifelong Learning Brand Projects” released by the China Adult Education Association (CAEA).

Recently, the project “Fostering Digital Competency, Building Re-Employment Capacity, and Enhancing Well-being for Older Adults in the Digital Economy” for international exchanges and cooperation as approved by the 2022 Budget and Management Committee of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC).

The opening ceremony for the second session of the Pang Zhonghua hard-pen senior seminar was held on 1 November 2022, and attended online by 342 teachers from 42 branches of the Open University of China (OUC) system.
