On 2 December 2024, a delegation of mid-to-senior level civil servants from the Hong Kong Education Bureau, visited the Open University of China (OUC) in Beijing as part of their educational exchange programme.

To thoroughly study and implement the guiding principles of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, and the National Conference on Education, and to enforce the Healthy China Initiative (2019–2030) and the Outline of the National Action Plan for Scientific Literacy (2021–2035), the Open University of China (OUC) hosted the inaugural pharmaceutical science popularisation competition titled “Pharmacy for Health, Competing for the Future” on 28 November 2024.

To implement the learner-centred teaching philosophy and enhance students' core English competencies, the School of Foreign Languages at the Open University of China (OUC), in collaboration with the Department of Student Affairs and Teacher Development and the Department of Digitalisation, organised an English speaking competition for students.

Recently, the results of the selection of outstanding alumni of the Open University of China (OUC) were announced, recognising 328 alumni from various industries across the country.

On 27 November 2024, a delegation led by Cai Guoying, former vice chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and president of Ningxia Elderly University, visited the Seniors University of China (SUC).

On 27 November 2024, the Open University of China (OUC) commenced the inaugural report and discussion event for the "Craftsmanship and Model Worker Lecture Series." The event was graced by the presence of Li Song, a member of the Party Committee and vice president of OUC.

To thoroughly study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, fully carry out the guiding principles of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the National Conference on Education, and continuously consolidate and expand the achievements of Party discipline education campaign, from 22 October to 20 November 2024, the Open University of China (OUC) hosted a special training programme for young cadres on studying and implementing the guiding principles of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee.
