To fully implement the guiding principles of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the National Conference on Education, and to accelerate the advancement of digital education, 30 Party branches within the system of the Open University of China (OUC) jointly organised a themed Party Day event titled "Building a Leading Country in Education, AI-Empowered Educational Innovation" on 4 December 2024.

Recently, to implement the "OUC’s Several Opinions on Promoting the Development of Ideological and Political Education into Courses" and solidly advance the construction of demonstration projects in this field, the Academic Affairs Department of the Open University of China (OUC) held a mid-term review and exchange seminar for national-level demonstration projects of ideological and political education into courses.

Recently, the Fourth Academic Committee of the Open University of China’s (OUC) Sub-Committee of Culture, History, Philosophy, and Arts (hereinafter referred to as "the Sub-Committee") held an academic event in Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, focusing on the integrated development of academic instruction and ideological and political education into courses.

From 4 to 5 December 2024, the Open University of China (OUC) held a seminar on exam content reform in Jingdezhen City, Jiangxi Province.

To implement the guiding principles of the National Conference on Education and support the construction of a society and country of learning where lifelong learning is pursued by all, the Seniors University of China (SUC) held the "Flourishing Silver Years, A Tribute to the New Era" National Senior Education Achievements Exhibition at the Guangdong Arts Theatre on 2 December 2024.

On 29 November 2024, the first stop outside Beijing of the “Healthy and Happy China Tour” — “TCM Master Lectures” of the Seniors University of China (SUC)was held in Ningbo. Professor Zhang Hongchun, a nationally renowned TCM expert and one of the first batch of Qihuang Scholars, delivered a thematic lecture.

Recently, the results of the selection of outstanding alumni of the Open University of China (OUC) were announced, recognising 328 alumni from various industries across the country.
