Beijing, 5 December 2025 – The finals of the Open University of China (OUC)'s 2nd "My Learning Story" speech competition was held at the Wukesong Campus in Beijing. Fifteen contestants from branches and colleges across the country shared sincere and moving stories, showcasing the spirit of "pursuing knowledge, striving for progress, and engaging in lifelong learning" among Open University students in the new era.

OUC President, WANG Qiming, Vice President FAN Xianrui, and Deputy Party Secretaries LIU Xuanxuan and XU Mingjun, presented awards to the winning students and outstanding organisational units.

The judging panel included YAO Xishuang, former Director-General of the Department of Language Application and Administration under the Ministry of Education and Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the Communication University of China's School of Broadcasting and Hosting Arts; WANG Jian, Director of Commentary at CGTN, China Media Group; WANG Jidong, Deputy Party Secretary of the Henan Branch; HAO Yuling, Vice President of the Harbin Branch; and ZHAO Zhuo'er, host of China Education Television, who gave comments on the contestants’ performance.

The contestants delivered heartfelt and inspiring speeches. One participant, in her seventies, chose to study law to defend rights with knowledge, embodying the ethos of "learning throughout life"; another, once lost in confusion, uninstalled e-games and turned to late-night study, reshaped their future through perseverance; yet another, despite confined to a wheelchair, excelled academically and through selfless dedication, evolved from a "light-chaser" into a "light-source" for others.
