Beijing, 21 November 2025 - To fully leverage family education’s foundational role in fostering virtue and cultivate positive family values, the Open University of China (OUC) held the 2nd Exchange and Exhibition Activity of Outstanding Family Education Cases in the New Era at its Wukesong Campus.

OUC Vice President LI Song attended the event. The event was also attended by experts such as Researcher LI Su from the Institute of Psychology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor ZHAO Liqin from Beijing University of Technology, Associate Researcher SHAN Zhiyan from China National Academy of Educational Sciences, and Associate Researcher LI Yifan from Beijing Academy of Educational Sciences.

Since its launch, the event has received positive responses of teachers and students from the OUC branches nationwide. A total of 139 cases from 34 branches were submitted to the headquarters. After expert reviews, first prizes went to 14 cases, second prizes went to 23, and third prizes went to 34 for both the teacher and student categories. Chongqing, Shenzhen, and Ningbo branches were among the 12 branches that received the Organisation Award.

LI Song presented awards to the first-prize winners. Heads of the Academic Affairs Department, the Learning Resources Department, and the Student Affairs and Teacher Development Department, namely GU Xiaohua, LI Wei, and ZHANG Hongrui, respectively presented awards to the second and third prize winners and representatives of the branches that received the Organisation Award.

Ten representatives from seven branches, the award-winning teachers and students, shared their experiences on four themes: "fostering virtue through education and all-round development," "mental and physical well-being and career guidance," "family building and parenting guidance," and "digital literacy and family guidance."

The experts gave high praise to the outstanding cases collected, saying that the case content is based on real-life family situations, focuses on the needs of the times, and conveys genuine emotions. They cover key issues in children's development and various aspects of family education, offering strong practical guidance and promotion value.

ZHANG Xia, Dean of the OUC School of Education, summarised the event. Over 50 award-winning teachers and students attended. The event was also attended by teachers from the OUC headquarters' School of Education, Academic Affairs Department, Learning Resources Department, and Department of Student Affairs and Teacher Development. The live broadcast was streamed via video and images, attracting more than 10,000 viewers.
