On 18 October, 2018, the Open University of China (OUC) held a meeting concerning a pilot survey of graduate and employer satisfaction in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. More than 30 people, including Lin Yu, vice president of the OUC, Ye Hong, president of Zhejiang Radio and TV University (Zhejiang RTVU), and directors and other personnel from 11 branches, such as the Tianjin Branch and the OUC Experimental School, attended the meeting.

The School of Modern Property Services and Real-Estate Management of the Open University of China (OUC) was inaugurated on 15 October, 2018, at the Second International Property Management Industry Expo. Lin Yu, OUC vice president, and Shen Jianzhong, chairman of the China Property Management Institute, were among those attending.

The Bayi School of the Open University of China (OUC) and the Encyclopedia of China Publishing House (ECPH) signed a strategic-cooperation agreement in Beijing on the 16th of October, 2018. The two sides will carry out in-depth cooperation in defense education, the development and publishing of teaching materials, courseware production, and so on.

The 2nd Symposium on Open and Innovative Education was held in Beijing from 17-19 October 2018, and attracted both domestic and international experts. The Open University of China (OUC) and Open University of Hong Kong (OUHK) jointing organised it. Yang Zhijian, secretary of the Party Committee and president of the OUC, and Prof. Reggie Kwan, vice president of the OUHK, delivered addresses at the opening ceremony.

On the morning of 12 October 2018, a strategic cooperation agreement was signed between Lishui Municipal People's Government and Zhejiang Radio and TV University (Zhejiang RTVU) at the conference room of the municipal government of Lishui.

In response to the national call for educational targeted poverty alleviation and in order to actively promote the development of non-degree education at the Open University of China (OUC), at the Third Rural E-commerce Conference held on 12 October 2018, the OUC granted a plaque for the OUC Research and Training Centre for Rural E-commerce Professionals to Lishui Radio and Television University (Lishui RTVU).

The “Shanghai-Kashi Class for Citizens” is a project to support Xinjiang’s development jointly launched by Shanghai and Kashi (a region in the southwest of Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region).

On the afternoon of 28 September 2018, Huaqiao College of the Open University of China (OUC) launched the “Sino-African Culture and Art Exchange” activity in Chengdu. More than seventy people, including international guests from Uganda, Ghana, Cameroon, and Nigeria who are currently living in the city, as well as local citizens from art groups and foreign language classes, attended the event.
