In order to promote the scientific research and innovation ability of the Open University of China (OUC), develop the OUC’s scientific research team, access the power of scientific research, and build a learning and communication platform for teaching and scientific research personnel at the OUC and enable them to better understand development trends in open and distance education, the OUC held an advanced seminar for its teaching and scientific research personnel in Beijing from 14-19 October, 2018.
From 23-24 October 2018, a work conference for three majors (Business Administration, Marketing, and Logistics Management) from the Open University of China (OUC) teaching and research centre group was held in Suzhou, Jiangsu province.
My generation may look back on our time at a Radio and TV University (RTVU) as the most precious period in our lives.
To help implement teaching reforms and enhance teaching quality, exchange experiences, build consensus, innovate through collaboration, and jointly promote the reform and coordinated development of majors, the OUC convened the 2018 conference of the central teaching-research team for the Accounting and Financial Management majors in Huzhou, Zhejiang Province, from 10 – 12 October. 16 representatives of the OUC headquarters and branches attended.
On 11th and 12th October, 2018, a seminar on graduation comprehensive practice and degree application procedures for undergraduates was held by the Faculty of Agroforestry and Medicine of the Open University of China (OUC) in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, with the majors covered including Horticulture, Nursing, and Public Service Management (Health Management direction).
The 2018 opening ceremony for the Education Improvement Programme and a donation agreement (signing) ceremony were held on 13 October 2018 at Sichuan Radio and TV University (Sichuan RTVU), a partner aid unit for poverty alleviation in Litang County in Sichuan’s Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. Sichuan RTVU is committed to alleviating poverty in Litang through “education, industry, and care.”
“‘So you have put on reading glasses and now speak with lower voice after just half a year of university study’, my wife always laughs at me and says. ‘If you had worked this hard earlier, you would have passed the college entrance examination’,” 50-year-old Wang Wenbin, chairman of Doushizhuang Village Committee, Linyi County, Jiaobei Township, said. “It’s as if I have become a different person after attending university.”
On 21 October, 2018, the journal Distance Education in China, together with the Capital Learning Society Research Institute affiliated with Beijing Normal University(BNU) and the editorial department of the journal Adult Education, published by the Book and Information Centre of Renmin University, jointly organised a forum called “Emerging Topics in Education”, the first of its kind, with the theme of "Building a Learning City in the Internet Era", in Beijing.
