The Third Session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and the Third Session of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC) commenced respectively in Beijing on 4th and 5th March 2025. President XI Jinping and other Party and state leaders attended the sessions, where NPC deputies and CPPCC members deliberated on national affairs, charted the course for development, and envisioned the grand prospects of Chinese modernisation. Faculty members of the Open University of China (OUC) actively followed the proceedings, engaged in in-depth study and thinking.
WANG Hongmei, from Henan Province, serves as a deputy to the 14th National People's Congress (NPC). Currently, she holds the position of a senior technician at Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) and is pursuing her undergraduate studies in Administrative Management at Ningde Open University since the autumn semester of 2021.
ZHONG Tuanyu, She ethnicity and a member of the Communist Party of China, currently serves as the Party Branch Secretary and Director of Village Committee, and Chairperson of the Village Women's Federation of Jindouyang Village, Fu'an City, Fujian Province. She also holds the position of Part-time Vice Chairperson of the Fu'an Federation of Women. In the spring of 2022, she enrolled in Administrative Management (Rural Management Direction) programme at Fu'an Open University (OU). In 2025, she was honoured with the title of "National March 8th Red Banner Holder."
SHI Wenmei, is a graduate majoring in Township Enterprise Management at Zhejiang Open University and a deputy to the 14th National People's Congress (NPC). She currently serves as the Director of the R&D Centre at Huzhou Taiping Micro-Special Motors Co., Ltd. SHI was ever awarded "Good Samaritans of China" in 2013, National Model of Professional Ethics for Workers in 2013, National May Day Labour Medal in 2016, National March 8th Red Banner Holder in 2018, and National Model Worker in 2020.
The opening session of the third session of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC) was held at the Great Hall of the People at 9 am on March 5. When Premier Li Qiang delivered the Government Work Report, he reviewed the work in 2024 and introduced the tasks of the government in 2025. The report on the work of the government proposes to thoroughly implement the strategy of rejuvenating the country through science and education and improve the overall effectiveness of the national innovation system.
WANG Qide, hailed from Nanjiang, Sichuan Province. A member of the Communist Party of China, he has served as a deputy to the 12th, 13th and 14th National People’s Congress (NPC).
CHEN Xiaojing, currently serves as a deputy to the 14th National People's Congress (NPC) and holds the positions of Secretary of the General Party Branch, and Director of the Villagers’ Committee in Yuantou Village, Yantan Township, Yongjia County, Zhejiang Province.
YUE Qiaoyun, is a deputy to the National People's Congress (NPC) and the Chairperson of Beijing Lyunongxingyun Fruit Production and Sales Professional Cooperative Society. She is also a student majoring in Business Administration at Beijing Open University (Pinggu Branch) in the spring of 2023.
