On 29 October 2025, the Double-Ninth Special of the Seniors University of China (SUC) and the Closing Gala of the 2025 “Golden Age Cup” National Senior Arts Showcase & Performance concluded successfully.

The event reached more than 208 million views, attracted some 40,000 participants with nearly 9,000 entries, and featured 41 teams and 679 performers in the live Finals and Closing Ceremony. It was broadcast live across 45 platforms and TV stations. More than 20.76 million viewers watched the event through viewing sessions for older learners organised by 44 provincial branches, 65 sub-branches, and 30 partner organisations. The event received extensive coverage by media outlets including Xinhua News Agency, China Media Group (CMG) and China Education Television (CETV).

The 2025 “Golden Age Cup” National Senior Arts Showcase & Performance is jointly organised by SUC and CETV. Around 40,000 senior arts lovers participate in the event, with 8,164 works submitted from eight categories of vocal music, dance, instrumental music, traditional opera, recitation, fashion design & model display, soft-brush calligraphy and traditional Chinese painting.

679 senior learners from 41 teams delivered moving and spectacular performance one after another. Through the screen, they presented a heartwarming picture of “Learning, Happiness and Fulfilment for Later Life” and embodied the festival’s spirit of respecting, honouring and loving older persons.

Rooted in traditional culture and contemporary themes, the Double-Ninth special not only displayed the learning achievements of learners in seniors universities nationwide, but also offered a living example of SUC’s educational philosophy “Morality, Learning, Health, Happiness and Fulfilment”, while helping to build a ubiquitous and accessible lifelong learning system for all.
