Beijing, 31 October 2025 - The Project Proposal Defence Workshop for National Education Sciences Planning Lifelong Education System Research was held at the Open University of China (OUC).

GUAN Peijun, Vice President of the China Association of Higher Education; Dr. WANG Qiming, OUC President; and WANG Xiaoning, Deputy Director of the National Office for Education Science Planning joined 40 experts and scholars, along with 92 project leaders from universities, research institutes and the open university system nationwide for the event. The programme consisted of a plenary session and parallel sessions. OUC Vice President XU Mingjun chaired the plenary session.

OUC President WANG Qiming delivered opening remarks. WANG Xiaoning, Deputy Director of the National Office for Education Science Planning outlined the requirement for the project proposal defence.

Following the plenary session, parallel defence sessions were conducted for the eight research projects approved under the 2025 Lifelong Education System Study Grant. Panel reviewers provided rigorous and pinpoint feedback that sharpened research questions, clarified conceptual frameworks, defined methodological pathways and upgraded project designs, thereby laying a solid foundation for the subsequent research phases.

All project teams committed to deliver more higher-quality outcomes, ensuring that their research directly supports the development of a ubiquitous and accessible lifelong learning system and contributes to building China into a leading country in education.
