Senior Officials from the Ministry of Education (MOE), including Vice Minister Du Zhanyuan and Deputy Director-general of the MOE Department of Science and Technology Lou Jing, visited the Open University of China (the OUC) on June 4, 2013 to inspect its achievements since its establishment in 2012 and experience the Week for Cultural Learning activity.

The Open University of China (OUC) officially established its School of the Arts on July 3, 2013. The opening ceremony was attended by Zhang Shuanggu, vice president and secretary-general of the Chinese Society for Educational Development Strategy, and Yan Bing, vice president of the OUC.

Five-Minute Lectures (http://wfz.nerc-edu.com/), a new website designed by the Open University of China (OUC), was officially launched on July 3, 2013 by professor Li Defang, secretary-general of the National Networked Consortium for the Education of Teachers, Feng Xuefei, president of Tianjin RTVU (OUC Tianjin Branch), and Li Linshu, vice president of the OUC.

A Delegation from Canada’s Thompson Rivers University (TRU) visited the Open University of China (OUC) on July 2, 2013. The delegation included Dr. Alan Shaver, president of TRU, and Ms Baihua Chadwick, interim associate vice president and CEO of TRU World Global Operations. Yang Zhijian, president of the OUC, and Zhang Shaogang, deputy party secretary of the OUC, welcomed the delegation.
