On October 29th 2010, the Open University of China (OUC) Multimedia Press and the Chinese Society for Modern Educational Technology of the Chinese Institute of Electronics (CIE) signed an agreement on audiovisual product promotion under the general cooperation project with China Calligraphy and Painting International University.
The OUC signed a strategic cooperative agreement with the CIE on July 29th 2010, making the decision to integrate their educational and academic resources for various degree and non-degree programmes in line with the principle of "serving the public with complementary advantages",
The OUC recently signed a cooperation agreement with the CIBT Education Group initiating an international hotel management programme. The project aims to produce outstanding graduates in the field of hotel management in an effort to develop the high-end domestic market by introducing international curriculum resources and training methods. In order to promote this, a promotion conference on hotel management projects in Chinese radio and TV universities was held in Lianhua Hotel in Kunming, Yunnan.
On the occasion of the coming of the new year, OUC President Yang Zhijian and Secretary of the OUC Party Committee and Vice President Ruan Zhiyong sent their new year greetings to all staff and students of open universities across China, to friends from all walks of life who have been concerned for and supported the development of open universities, and to open university schoolmates at home and abroad. December 4, 2010 saw the "Forum on National Community Education Work" hosted by the Ministry of Education in Hangzhou. Practices and experiences in developing community education in recent years were summarized and analyzed. An in-depth analysis was made of the current state of and new opportunities in community education work, and a work plan was made on tasks for community education at present and in the future.

On December 16, 2010, the Open University of China (OUC, formerly China Central Radio & TV University, CCRTVU) held a staff meeting, at which OUC President Yang Zhijian made a report on his achievements, reflected on the past five months since his inauguration, unfolded a blueprint for building the open open university, and put forward his hopes for the future of the OUC. All the members of the OUC leadership and more than 300 staff members attended the meeting, which was chaired by Vice President Ruan Zhiyong of the OUC.
The opening ceremony of the Fifth Confucius Institute Conference was held at the National Convention Center in Beijing on December 10th 2010, attracting 1400 university presidents and Confucius Institute representatives from 96 countries and regions. The theme of the two-day conference was sustainable development of the Confucius Institute.
On 14 October 2010, Ms. Gonzalez, Representative of the International Department, Open University of Catalonia (OUC), Spain, visited the Open University of China (OUC). Li Yawan, Director of the OUC International Cooperation and Exchange Division, gave her a warm reception.
