From 14-15 March, 2013, the OUC organized a digital library application training course at Hebei RTVU, marking the beginning of the “Year of the Digital Library”. Over 100 attendees participated in the training, including teachers from Hebei RTVU, research directors and library technicians from prefecture- and city-level RTVUs.

The first 2013 China M-Learning Exhibition and Case Study Conference was held on March 12 in the multi-function hall of the Open University of China (OUC).

 

 

The OUC held its 2013 annual working conference in Beijing on February 23. The conference focused on the following issues: the construction of an institutional framework and an academic system, informatization, the importance of education and teaching, and the establishment of a credit bank.

The OUC’s iTunes U channel was officially launched on February 1, 2013. More than 30 free open courses have been uploaded, providing Chinese teaching and cultural resources for learners both at home and abroad.

As we say goodbye to the past year and welcome the coming of the new year, on behalf of the OUC I would like to wish a very happy new year to all our students, teachers and retired coworkers of the RTVUs at all levels across China, as well as all those who have supported the development of distance education over the past year. 

The 30th anniversary of the establishment of the China Central Radio and TV University (CCRTVU, now The Open University of China, OUC) Press was held at the OUC’s Wukesong Distance Education Teaching Building on the morning of December 22, 2012. Over 400 guests, including university leaders, staff from the CCRTVU Press, publishing industry colleagues and other elites in Beijing, attended the celebration.  

 The 7th Confucius Institute Conference was held at the China National Convention Center in Beijing from December 16 to 18, 2012. During the conference, Hao Ping, Vice Minister of Education, visited the MyEChinese distance education Chinese experiential zone held by the OUC’s Chinese Language Center. 

On December 13, 2012, a conference was held in Beijing to promote cooperation between the Open University of China (OUC) and 15 major cities in the joint development of learning-oriented cities.
