On 31 October 2022, the Open University of China (OUC) invited Professor Liang Wannian, head of the Expert Group of the Epidemic Response and Disposal Leading Group of the National Health Commission (NHC), and dean of the Institute for Healthy China, Tsinghua University, to teach in the “Healthy China: Lectures by Famous Teachers” programme.
On 11 October 2022, the Open University of China (OUC) held a seminar on learning support for the degree-conferral English programme, part of professional development in the OUC system. The event aimed to upgrade the teaching abilities of its teachers and to provide all-round learning-support services, supporting the development of the English programme. On 28 September 2022, the School of Public Administration of the Faculty of Political Science and Law of the Open University of China (OUC) held an academic workshop with the theme “The logicality and reality of the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind: The Chinese action plan.”
On 29 September 2022, the Open University of China (OUC) held a seminar on the construction of learning regions via online and offline means. This seminar was jointly organised by the Lifelong Education Research Institute, the Academic Affairs Department, the MOE Research and Training Centre for Vocational Education, and the Department of Reform and Development.
On 20 September 2022, the Faculty of Economics and Management and the Economics Sub-committee of Academic Committee of the Open University of China (OUC) held a joint seminar on teaching reforms in the Economics and Management majors, aiming to implement the guiding principles of the National Vocational Education Conference and put into play the role of the Sub-committee in discipline construction, teaching reforms, and enhanced quality of training.
The International Department of the Open University of China (OUC) and the Centre for Online and Distance Education (CODE) of the University of London (UoL) came together on 21 September 2022 to introduce the 2022 - 2023 Online Professional Development Course.
In order to implement the requirements of the Opinions of the State Council of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on Strengthening the Work of Older Adults in the New Era, take advantage of the strengths of the open-university system, and promote the education of older adults at open universities, the Education Sub-committee of the OUC Academic Committee held a forum on innovative development of open-university education for older adults on 16 September 2022.

The Open University of China （OUC） and Beijing Jiaotong University (BJU) held a symposium on joint cooperation in the Public Administration (Educational Economy and Management orientation) graduate programme, and a meeting with programme freshmen, on 7 September 2022 to mark the launch of the initiative.
A virtual-teaching research office for higher education has been established by the Computer Assisted English Language Learning programme in response to the call of the Ministry of Education to implement the educational reforms laid out in the 14th Five-Year Plan, and to accelerate the construction of the office in order to advance teaching reforms at the Open University of China (OUC).
