The Forum on Internationalisation Practice of Distance and Open education, part of the China Annual Conference for International Education & Expo (CACIE) sponsored by the Open University of China (OUC) and co-sponsored by the OUC’s Chengdu, Qingdao, and Harbin branches, was held on 22 October 2021 at the Beijing International Convention Centre. CACIE, with the approval of China’s State Council and the strong support of the Ministry of Education (MOE), is an annual event for Chinese and international education hosted by the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) since 2000.
On 19 October 2021, the 2021 Online Chinese Medical-diet Training Programme for Overseas Chinese was launched, sponsored by the Xichuan Provincial Returned Overseas Chinese Federation, the Sichuan Provincial Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the Chengdu University of TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine), and organised by Huaqiao College of the Open University of China (OUC).
The Open University of China (OUC) and the Open University, UK (OUUK) jointly held three sessions of online teacher-training workshops at the OUC headquarters from 21 - 25 June, 6 - 10 September, and 11 - 15 October 2021.
Recently, the Open University of China (OUC) held an expert seminar on “Research on Chinese Civilisation and its Use in Education” in Tianshui, Gansu Province.
On 16 October 2021, the first session of the “High-level Forum on Contemporary Chinese Marxism Research 2021” was held in Beijing, sponsored by the Open University of China (OUC) and organised by the OUC School of Marxism.
In the finals of the 7th China International Internet Plus College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, held at Nanchang University from 12 to 15 October 2021, the Open University of China (OUC) won five gold medals and eight silver in the Vocational Education category.
An advanced seminar on the construction and development of Liaoning Open University (Liaoning OU), co-organised by the Open University of China (OUC) and Liaoning OU, was held in Beijing from 11-14 October 2021. A total of 95 people, including Yi Huanbin, Liaoning OU Party secretary, Guo Yongxin, president of Liaoning OU, Wang Hongyu and Li Dongqing, vice presidents of Liaoning OU, as well as student representatives from relevant departments of Liaoning OU and various branches at the prefecture, district, and county levels in Liaoning Province, participated in the seminar.
On the evening of 14 October 2021, the finals of the 7th China International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition concluded at Nanchang University, Jiangxi. The "DIY Children's-carriage Teaching Aids" project of the Experimental School of the Open University of China (OUC) won the first gold medal for Beijing in the history of the competition.
