In order to deepen the study and implementation of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and promote the strategic action of digitalisation of education, the Open University of China (OUC) and Tsinghua University recently conducted a special exchange on digital work.

Fan Xianrui, member of the Party Committee and vice president of the OUC, and Tian Jing, director of Lifelong Education Department at Tsinghua University, participated in the exchange.

Fan Xianrui, on behalf of the OUC, welcomed Tian Jing and her delegation and introduced the basic situation, the historical evolution of its educational system and its main future work. Fan Xianrui stated that the OUC deeply implements the guiding principle of the 20th National Congress of the CPC and promotes the digital transformation of education, striving to build a digital university that connects the world. Tsinghua University has rich achievements and unique advantages in promoting the construction of a learning society through continuing education. The two sides can strengthen cooperation and exchanges, and jointly contribute to the construction of a society and country of learning where lifelong learning is pursued by all.

Tian Jing introduced the purpose of this survey and the basic situation of lifelong education at Tsinghua University. Tian Jing stated that Tsinghua University actively explores new concepts and models of lifelong education, and promotes the open and efficient use of Tsinghua's educational resources to support the construction of a learning society and to cultivate various talents needed by the country and the people. Since its establishment, the OUC has always been committed to serving lifelong learning for all and building a learning society. The university has achieved certain results in serving the national education digitalisation strategy. It is hoped that both sides will strengthen cooperation and research to promote the high-quality development of lifelong education.

 During the meeting, the heads of the Information Technology Department, Learning Resources Department of the OUC respectively introduced the overall progress of the digital strategic action, the situation of digitalisation of learning resources, and the construction of digital platforms. The two sides had in-depth discussions on promoting digital transformation, strengthening data security protection, and other related topics.
