A number of beautiful famous villages in Lishui, Zhejiang Province, have recently taken up a new mission, becoming classrooms for ideological and political education through a cooperative programme developed by Lishui Radio and Television University (Lishui RTVU). The villages, which have made great progress in rural revitalisation, offered a wonderful ideological and political education lesson to 41 students who are members of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
In order to implement the guidelines put forward in Several Opinions on Strengthening the Construction of Situation and Policy Courses in Colleges and Universities in the New Era released by the Ministry of Education, enhance the provision of education on situation and policy for open education students, and further implement the teaching of ideological and political courses in Hubei Province, on the afternoon of 9 June, the OUC Hubei Branch launched a special live lecture on situation and policy for the spring semester 2020 through the OUC cloud classroom, using the cloud classroom's live streaming platform and with technical support provided by the OUC Online Education and Technology Co., Ltd.. A total of 1,500 teachers and students participated in the live teaching session in real time.
In order to comprehensively improve the educational qualifications and teaching abilities of rural teachers in continuing education, Aba Radio and TV University (Aba RTVU) issued the Notice on the Implementation of the Spring Rain Activity for Enhancing Rural Teachers’ Educational Qualifications and Teaching Abilities (Aba RTVU, [2020], No. 15).
In order to further improve the ideological and political education of students in adult education under the new normal and strive to advance the "Three Types of Education,” namely, education for all members of society, education with comprehensive procedures, and all-round education, on 30 May 2020, the Fujian branch held an opening ceremony for new students and launched the first lesson of the new semester for all students of open education in the Radio and TV University (RTVU) system in Fujian Province.
How can we stimulate the vitality of online teaching via scientific adjustment and enable learning at home through multiple platforms? In order to cope with a sudden rise in the demand for home-based learning during the epidemic, Harbin Radio and TV University (RTVU) has enacted a series of powerful measures to provide services for more than 40,000 open education students and more than 100,000 citizens with online learning needs to study at home while school is closed during the period of epidemic prevention and control, which enabled education and teaching to develop at an accelerated rate.
Recently, the defence work for bachelor degree students from the Xi'an Branch in spring 2020 has been successfully completed. Since the outbreak of COVID-19, the Xi’an Branch has been making full use of information technology to continuously innovate its work model and optimise its live streaming platform. Following online live streamed classes, online cloud defences have been put into practice as scheduled. The online video defence for undergraduate students was conducted using multiple platforms such as smart classrooms, the Tencent meeting app, and WeChat groups in order to maintain quality in completing graduation defences.
In order to speed up the training of skilled personnel for companies and other sectors of society, further promote vocational skills training, comprehensively enhance the occupational skills level of workers, and provide skilled personnel protection for the development of a high-quality economy, the International Business Institute of Jinhua Radio and TV University (Jinhua RTVU, also known as Zhejiang School of Business and Trade) officially kicked off a welfare training programme on live streaming on Taobao and Douyin on 9 May 2020.
Since 10 April 2020, more than 117,000 students from Xinjiang Radio and TV University (Xinjiang RTVU) have logged into the integrated online learning platform on their computer or mobile phone and completed learning procedures such as registration, payment, course selection, online examinations, and uploading papers, realising the goal of convenient learning anytime, anywhere.
