In order to comprehensively improve the educational qualifications and teaching abilities of rural teachers in continuing education, Aba Radio and TV University (Aba RTVU) issued the Notice on the Implementation of the Spring Rain Activity for Enhancing Rural Teachers’ Educational Qualifications and Teaching Abilities (Aba RTVU, [2020], No. 15).
The Aba RTVU workstation, which attached great importance to the notice, worked closely with the Teachers' Further Education Institute in Aba and selected 15 qualified teachers. An opening ceremony for the Spring Rain Activity for Enhancing Rural Teachers’ Educational Qualifications and Teaching Abilities (hereinafter referred to as the "Spring Rain Activity") was held on the morning of 7 June 2020.
The “Spring Rain Activity,” which is organised and implemented by the OUC, is part of an important strategy to improve the educational qualifications and teaching abilities of rural teachers in the “three districts and three prefectures” region, provide support for basic education, and fully implement the work of poverty alleviation through education in areas deeply stricken by poverty by the Ministry of Education, demonstrating the responsibility of the OUC education system. The project subsidises tuition fees or offers favourable credit subsidies to currently-employed rural teachers from kindergartens and primary and secondary schools in the “three districts and three prefectures” region who have signed up to study undergraduate education majors at the OUC. Over 2,000 rural teachers have benefited from the project.
