On 20 January 2022, the Open University of China (OUC) held the sixth meeting of the third session of its Academic Degree Evaluation Committee via video conference. The meeting discussed issues related to degree granting for the 2021 autumn semester and decided to award 2006 graduates OUC bachelor’s degrees, including Qin Haitao.
On 15 January 2022, the government of the Shijingshan district held an oath-taking for district volunteers serving the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics. Sun Jiangtao, a representative of the volunteers from the Open University of China (OUC), was among those attending.
On 7 and 8 January 2022, a delegation headed by Ju Chuanjin, vice president of the Open University of China (OUC), went to investigate Weixian County, designated by the Ministry of Education for assistance in poverty alleviation, with a special trip to Weijiazhai Village, where Dr. Li Ruifu, a full-time teacher in the OUC Faculty of Forestry and Medicine, serves as the first village-resident secretary.
On 29 December 2021, the OUC 14th Five-Year Plan for Development was officially issued and implemented.
On 6 January 2022, a meeting in Beijing launched the “Vocational-training Project for Health Professionals”, jointly initiated by the Open University of China (OUC) and the Health Human Resources Development Centre of the Ministry of Health (HHRDC). Through large-scale cooperation, they plan to enhance the training of and curricula directed toward health professionals.
The presidents’ meeting of the Consortium for Benchmarking Framework and Data Set for Online, Open, Smart and Technology-enhanced Higher Education (Consortium for Benchmarking Framework in short) sponsored by Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) was held via video conference on 10 January 2022. Fan Xianrui, vice president of the Open University of China (OUC), attended the meeting.
The Faculty of Agroforestry and Medicine of the Open University of China (OUC) held its second Nursing Case Competition from April to December 2021 in response to the Party's education policies, and to help foster virtue through education. The finals of the first competition were held in June of 2019.
In order to help build a country-wide lifelong-learning system, enhance public services and the inclusivity of community education, and find members of the public with professional training who are willing to act as teachers, the Ministry of Education (MOE) is working to promote community education through its Research & Training Centre for Community Education. So far the Centre has received interest from 30 provinces, and preparations have entered their second stage.
