The outbreak of Covid-19 in Jilin Province moved the Open University of China (OUC) to donate materials for controlling the spread of infection to Jilin Open University (Jilin OU). On 4 April 2022, the materials finally arrived.

In a video lecture, Mr. Tang analyses in detail a famous work, the“Composition with Red, Blue and Yellow” by the Dutch painter Piet Mondrian in terms of its artistic characteristics and the stories behind it. It is the first lecture of an online community Basics of Painting class given by him at the Open University of China (OUC). Hundreds of students are being introduced to oil painting via these lectures.
On 18 March 2022 the Open University of China (OUC) held a meeting via video link to promote the "Smart Learning Platform" pilot project for the spring term 2022 to advance the implementation of the national digital education strategy action (“action” for short) and accelerate the OUC’s digital transformation.
