On 17 June 2022, the special work group (SWG) of the Open University of China (OUC), preparing for the World Vocational and Technical Education Development Conference, invited Xiao Lei, director of the executive committee of the China Annual Conference & Expo for International Education, and deputy director of the General Affairs and Research and Development Department of the China Education Association for International Exchange, to give a workshop titled "Preparation and Organisation of International Conferences".

On 18 June 2022, an IT research and academic exchange for young professionals on both sides of the Taiwan Straits was held in the 5G smart classroom by the Cross-Straits Exchange Centre, the Cross-Straits Economic and Scientific Cooperation Centre, the Open University of China, and the Education and Examination Centre.

On 16 June 2022, the Open University of China (OUC) held a meeting to discuss autumn 2022 enrolment. Li Song, OUC vice president; Gu Xiaohua, director of the Academic Affairs Department; teaching-department heads, and personnel from the Admissions Office of the OUC headquarters, attended onsite, while over 6,000 leaders and staff in charge of enrolment at OUC branches (schools) and learning centres participated via video link.

On 9 June, the cyber-security and IT team of the Open University of China (OUC) held its second meeting of 2022. Jing Degang, president and secretary of the Party Committee, as well as team head, presided over the meeting and gave a speech.

8 June 2022 was the 14th World Oceans Day, and designated in China for promoting protection of the oceans. The Open University of China (OUC) and Qingdao Open University jointly invited Professor Wang Guangce, a researcher with the Institute of Oceanology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, to stream a lecture live on the OUC’s lifelong-education platform.

The Chinese Ministry of Education (MOE) organised a donation drive for low-income mothers following the 109th Mother’s Day as part of its efforts toward poverty-alleviation, rural revitalisation, and enhancement of the lives of poor women. The Open University of China (OUC) responded by mobilising faculty and staff.

On 13 May 2022, the 11th page of the People’s Daily Overseas Edition published an article entitled Recommended Textbooks for Chinese Learning, which mentioned the textbook series Chinese for Industries developed by the Open University of China (OUC).

On 11 May 2022, the first council of the Education Foundation of the Open University of China (OUC) of Beijing held its first meeting. The Party Committee of the OUC sent members of the foundation to attend.
