To study and implement the guidance of the 20th CPC National Congress, summarise the work of 2022, and prepare for that of 2023, the Faculty of Economics and Management of the Open University of China (OUC) held an online symposium on 21st December.
Fan Xianrui, member of the Party Committee and vice president of the OUC, attended, and the symposium was presided over by Liu Zhifang, deputy director of the Faculty of Economics and Management.
At the symposium, Fan Xianrui focused on student-centred enhancements to teaching, use of IT, and new approaches to teaching innovation and entrepreneurship. She conducted in-depth discussions with the participating teachers, and listened carefully to their opinions on the work of the Faculty and the development of the OUC. She also praised the educational achievements of the Faculty over the past year, and said that, over the years, it has made advances in professional training, resource construction, and social services; held several design and analysis competitions; and pursued education in innovation and entrepreneurship. She also urged the Faculty of Economics and Management to adapt to the needs of lifelong learning and personalised training in the new “digital economy”, daring to push for breakthroughs and innovations, implementing digital education, and placing innovation and entrepreneurship at the core of training. She stressed that the Faculty should pursue collaboration, help create specialised programmes, maintain a practical orientation, and devote itself to building the OUC programme and model of innovative and entrepreneurial education.
The teachers present praised the support given by the OUC and the Faculty to their work, guiding teaching reforms, addressing difficulties, and boosting their confidence.
