The 2020 Forum on Research into Network-based Online Education at the Open University of China (OUC) took place from 10-13 November with the aim of building a network-based multi-domain, multi-perspective academic-exchange platform, and of helping young and middle-aged scholars at the OUC to publish, broaden their academic horizons, and undertake new research.

The Open University of China (OUC) held a training workshop for the Institute of Teachers’ Professional Development of Mongolia (ITPD) from 17-18 November 2020, in an attempt to implement a cooperation agreement with UNESCO.

In order to implement the goal of building a "Platform for External Cooperation" as stated in the Comprehensive Reform Plan of the Open University of China (OUC) issued by the Ministry of Education, the OUC held a seminar on international cooperation in education operations among members of the open university system at the OUC Qingdao Branch on 19 November 2020.

In 2020, Covid-19 has affected hundreds of millions of people. In order to enhance efforts to prevent the spread of the disease, as required by the Ministry of Education (MOE), the Open University of China (OUC) recruited volunteers for this purpose, and sent eight teachers (Wang Jia, Gao Hui, Tu Chenyang, Wang Di, Wang Yu, Zhang Huiguang, Zhang Jingzhuo and Yang Jianliao) to work in the office of the MOE leading group dealing with Covid-19.

The "Craftsman of the Year" programme, jointly organised by the All-China Federation of Trade Unions and the China Media Group, and aiming to promote model workers and the value of labour and craftsmanship, announced its selections for 2019 recently.

The first special training session for “outstanding young teacher” candidates at the Open University of China (OUC) was held at Zhejiang University from 8 to 13 November, 2020. 101 candidates from the OUC system participated, and received certificates issued by Zhejiang University.

On the list of “excellent intellectuals” for October 2020, released recently by Tencent News, Zhu Qizhen, Kong Xiangbin and Zhu Junfeng, distinguished professors in the Quality Lectures by Famous Teachers programme of the Open University of China (OUC), were named.
