The OUC Professor and Doctoral Development Forums originated at the 11th Scientific Research Working Meeting, held by China Central Radio and TV University (CCRTVU) in April 2010.
They are co-organised by the Lifelong Education Research Institute and the OUC Academic Committee, with 23 sessions held so far. The forums invite senior experts, middle and senior managers, as well as young doctors to regularly conduct academic exchange and discussions on cutting-edge topics related to distance learning. The forums also focus on the development of academic discipline and majors, reforms to teaching, and best management practices.
Since their inception, the forums have received strong support from the OUC system, including its teaching and management departments. They have become increasingly influential and now play a key role in the OUC’s academic brand and exchanges.
In order to allow a greater number of people to access the event, the forums have adopted new technologies, including a two-way video conferencing system and cloud classrooms. This enables the event to be broadcast to participants from OUC branches and study centres across China, boosting accessibility.
