From 5-6 December 2019, the 2019 OUC Teaching and Scientific Research Meeting was held in Haikou, Hainan Province.

Editor's notes: A photography contest titled "Moving Moments" at the Open University of China (OUC) ended recently, with 10 first prizes, 20 second prizes, 30 third prizes and 51 awards of excellence being given. The works in this exhibit record all different kinds of important moments, transmit positive energy, and reflect the way OUC students carefully observe life and actively serve society. The award-winning works will be published on the OUC portal.

In order to further deepen the reform of education and teaching, comprehensively improve the quality of teaching, exchange experience, gather consensus, and effectively promote the construction and reform of economics and management majors, from 12-13 December 2019, the Faculty of Economics and Management of the Open University of China (OUC) held a seminar on the teaching work of majors related to economics and management in Haikou City, Hainan Province.

On 6 December 2019, the Tao Xingzhi Education Foundation and the Training Centre of the Open University of China (OUC) signed a framework agreement and a cooperation agreement to implement a programme of practical skills training for kindergarten teachers in nursery education.

From 3-4 December 2019, the Open University of China (OUC) and the publicity department of the All-China Women’s Federation (ACWF) jointly organised the 2019 Brilliant Life: A Lifelong Learning Plan for Women training class in Beijing.

Zhang Shanghai works for Shanghai Bus No. 4 Public Transport. Since 2017, he has been studying Automobile Marketing and Service at the Southwest Institute of Advanced Studies, Shanghai Branch, the Open University of China (OUC). He was named a "Shanghai Outstanding Migrant Worker" in 2017.

The Open University of China (OUC) Training Centre, together with Chongqing Chengkou study centre and Chengkou Sunshine Vocational Skills Training School, recently organised an e-commerce training class as part of the OUC Long March Belt Education Project Targeted at Alleviating Poverty, combined with the current situation and trends of the development of e-commerce in Chengkou County.
