The power of a teacher derives from a noble morality, loyalty to teaching as a career, and unselfish affection for his or her students. Zhang Qiong started her teaching career at Hengyang Radio and Television University (Hengyang RTVU) after graduating from college in 2003. Over the past 15 years, she has been deeply involved in both her teaching and in teaching reform and management. Highly motivated, her goals are to apply teaching theory to her practical work and to constantly improve her political literacy.

Recently, selection of the 2018 Lishui County She Nationality “Good Mother”, jointly organised by the Organising Committee of 3/3/2018 She Township Activities, the Women's Federation, and the National and Religious Affairs Bureau (Lishui Branch), took place. With the assistance of grass-roots voting, the judges selected ten candidates from the She nationality, and Lei Yunmei, an alumnus of the Suichang Radio and Television University (Suichang RTVU), was named the 2018 She “Good Mother.”

On the morning of 4th November, 2017, in the examination room at Xinjiekou School, Nanjing branch of the Open University of China (OUC), an English exam for the adult education undergraduate Bachelor’s degree for the Beijing area in fall 2017 was under way. A silver-haired old lady was sat in the classroom surrounded by younger students.

An OUC alumnus from Wuhan RTVU attended the National People’s Congress (NPC) and Chinese People’s Political and Consultative Conference (CPPCC), also known as “Two Sessions” in 2018. His name is Zhang Wenxi, deputy monitor of the Spring 2012 Agriculture and Economy Management class and one of the first session of graduates from the junior college class for the talent cultivation project of Xinzhou district rural village class. As the only grassroots-level farmer deputy to the Two Sessions from Wuhan, Zhang Wenxi brought with him a number of proposals.

Wang Qide, deputy to the National People’s Congress and president of “Wulang” Yellow Goat and “Hongqi” Pig Breeding Professional Cooperative in Nangjiang County, Bazhong City, Sichuan Province, sat down for an interview with China Economic Network (ce.cn).

She began to be involved in distance education after graduation, and since then has been working to fulfill her oath to "pass along knowledge to RTVU students and raise the profile of distance education."

Recently, with a reluctance to leave the snowy plateau, a deep love for Tibetan compatriots, and silent care for the development of Shannan Prefecture, a group of 50 professional technical personnel from Hunan Province in a short-term Tibetan aid programme, fifth of the kind, have successfully completed their tasks and made a smooth return to Hunan province. Fang Song, a teacher of the Department of Network Technology from Hunan Radio and Television University (Hunan RTVU), was one of them.

In June 2017, the first session of the teaching skills competition of the Open University of China (OUC) concluded. Ma Shaojun, a tutor from the OUC Zhejiang branch, won the best online design prize for his “timely learning reminders + learning via online platforms + special quizzes + real-time assignments” teaching model. He also won the overall first prize.
