The 13th Sports Meet of the Ministry of Education commenced on 20th April 2024. The first events conducted were the radio gymnastics and the Tai Chi team competitions, in which the OUC teams triumphed with double victories, making a grand entrance to the games.

On 16 April 2024, Liu Xuanxuan, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and secretary of the Discipline Inspection Committee of the Open University of China (OUC, also known as Seniors University of China, SUC), led a delegation to Hunan Open University (OU) to investigate elderly education efforts. Zeng Baocheng, Party Committee secretary of Hunan OU, President Yang Bin, and Vice President Wu Min attended the symposium.

Recently, the Ministry of Education announced the first batch of 18 typical case studies showcasing "Artificial Intelligence + Higher Education" application scenarios.

On 16th April 2024, the Open University of China (OUC) convened a special seminar on practical teaching. Various academic departments exchanged and reported on the current status, issues, and explorations of reforms related to practical teaching.

On 12 April, the opening event of the 2024 China International Education Exhibition Tour (CIEET) and the China Study Abroad Forum (CSAF) was held in Beijing.

On 29th March 2024, a symposium and study visit were held at the Weigongcun Campus of the Open University of China (OUC).

During the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), it was proposed that "We will promote the digitalisation of education and build a society and country of learning where lifelong learning is pursued by all."

On 28 March 2024, a delegation led by Liu Xuanxuan, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of the Open University of China (OUC, also referred to as the Seniors University of China, SUC), visited the Inner Mongolia Open University to explore elderly education initiatives and to officially launch the SUC Inner Mongolia Branch.
