OUC Team Excels at National Tax-Skills Competition
On the 16th of September, 2018, the National Tax-Skills Competition, the finals of the 8th National Tax Knowledge Competition, was held in Beijing. After fierce competition, the team of Tan Biao, He Youyi and Wang Xiangrong (instructed by Ms. Xia Hui and Ms. Zeng Qiuxiang) from the Hunan Branch of the Open University of China (OUC), and Yang Cuiming (instructed by Ms. Wei Min) from the OUC’s Beijing Branch, came third in the College and University group competition. The OUC was also recognised for its organisational efforts during the competition.
The 8th OUC-OUJ-KNOU International Seminar Held at the OUC
On the 20th September, 2018, the 8th OUC-OUJ-KNOU International Seminar hosted by the Open University of China (OUC)and attended by representatives from the Open University of Japan (OUJ) and the Korea National Open University (KNOU) was held in Beijing. The theme of the seminar was Online Teaching Development and Open University Innovation. The delegates from the three open universities conducted academic discussions and shared their experiences from the perspectives of teaching professionals and curriculum construction.
Opening Ceremony of the OUC “Realising the University Dream of Civil Aviation Staff” Project
On the 21st of September, 2018, the opening ceremony for the project "Realising the University Dream of Civil Aviation Staff", sponsored by the Civil Aviation Administration of China trade union and the Open University of China (OUC), and organised by the trade union of the China National Aviation Holding Company and the Experimental School of the OUC, was held in the headquarters of Air China in Beijing. More than 80 civil-aviation staff representatives witnessed the project initiation. More than 1,000 civil-aviation staff and students from across the country watched it online.
OUC Research and Training Centre for Rural E-commerce Professionals Launched in Lishui, Zhejiang
In response to the national call for educational targeted poverty alleviation and in order to actively promote the development of non-degree education at the Open University of China (OUC), at the Third Rural E-commerce Conference held on 12 October 2018, the OUC granted a plaque for the OUC Research and Training Centre for Rural E-commerce Professionals to Lishui Radio and Television University (Lishui RTVU).
OUC Delegation Attends 32nd AAOU Annual Conference
The 32nd Annual Conference of the Asian Association of Open Universities (AAOU) was held in Hanoi, Vietnam from 24-26 October 2018. A delegation of six people led by Open University of China (OUC) vice president Lin Yu attended the conference.
OUC and Xinhua Education Group Sign Strategic Cooperation Agreement
A signing ceremony of the strategic cooperation between the Open University of China (OUC) and Anhui Xinhua Education Group was held at the OUC on the morning of 1 November 2018. According to the goals of the cooperation, the two sides will play to their respective advantages, and absorb applied talent training experiences and the achievements of industry and business. They will introduce high-quality certification resources including the national vocational qualification certificate, the certificate of vocational skills, and the professional ability training certificate, and through the credit bank of the OUC, realise the accumulation and transformation of the learning outcomes of non-degree education and degree education credits.
OUC Students from the School for the Disabled Return from the Third Asian Paralympic Games
The third Asian Paralympic Games was held in Jakarta from 6-13 October 2018. Zou Lijuan, a student in the 2017 spring term social work major (undergraduate programme) at the OUC’s Lianyungang study centre, won gold medals in the women's F34 shot put and the women's F33/34 javelin, and broke the world record in the javelin event. Gu Xiaofei won the men's 80kg weightlifting gold medal and broke the Asia record.
