On 6 April 2023, the second the Open University of China (OUC) "UN Chinese Language Day" event that is to be co-organised by the OUC and the China Printing Museum, held a preparatory seminar at the OUC.

On 10 April 2023, a delegation consisting of the leaders of four Sri Lankan universities, including the University of Colombo, the University of Peradeniya, the University of Kelaniya, and the University of Ruhuna, as well as the deans of their respective colleges, visited the Open University of China (OUC).

From 7th to 9th April, 2023, in order to further give full play to the advantages of the Seniors University of China (SUC) system, understand the situation of grassroots elderly education, and effectively accelerate the quality of elderly education, Liu Chen, the deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the Open University of China (OUC, also known as the SUC), led a team to conduct research on elderly education work in Hainan Province.

In order to implement the important deployment of deepening the national reading activity as stated in the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, guide the faculty and staff to love reading, read good books, read effectively, inherit the excellent traditional Chinese culture and the advanced socialist culture, inspire the innovation and creativity of the faculty and students, and help promote the high-quality development of the university, the Open University of China (OUC) will launch the Reading Month activities from mid-April to mid-May according to the requirements of the Ministry of Education.

On 7 April 2023, the top international academic journal Science published a new paper by Professor Zhang Yan, a distinguished member of the panel of experts from the Engineering Research Centre for Technology Integration and Application of E-Learning, Ministry of Education (MOE), China.

Food delivery worker Jiang Hailong used to take breaks from 3 pm to 5 pm and after 10 pm, when there were fewer orders. However, since he signed up for an online program to get a higher vocational degree last year, he uses his free time to study.

The Open University of China (OUC) has held an offline training session on standard spoken and written Chinese language as part of efforts to implement the guiding principles of the 20th Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), as it calls for “strengthening the promotion of standard spoken and written Chinese language”.
