On 22 October 2019, the 3rd Symposium on Open and Innovative Education was held in Changsha, which was sponsored by the Open University of China (OUC), co-sponsored by the Open University of Hong Kong (OUHK) and organised by Hunan Radio and TV University (Hunan RTVU). Experts and scholars from the field of open and distance education in China and abroad participated in the symposium.

On 15 October 2019, the Open University of China (OUC) held a two-way video conference on scholarship work through the cloud conference system. From 10 to 11 October 2019, the OUC 2019 Teaching Working Conference and Third Session of the General Assembly of the OUC School Affairs Committee was held in Beijing.
