YU Ganqian is a member of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang (RCCK) and holds a postdoctoral degree in economics. He is a second-class professor, a member of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), President of Yunnan Open University, and Chairman of the RCCK Yunnan Provincial Committee. In 2007, he received the "National Culinary Education Achievement Award" by the China Cuisine Association.

WANG Yucheng, a 2008 undergraduate Law student at Anji College, Zhejiang Open University, currently serves as a deputy to the 14th National People's Congress (NPC) and as a Standing Committee member of Tianhuangping Town, Anji County, Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province. He holds the position of a third-class Principal Staff Member and is the Party Branch Secretary and Director of Yucun Village Committee.

LIU Yonghao, a native of Chengdu, Sichuan Province, is a senior engineer and a graduate of the 1979 electronics programme at Sichuan Open University. He currently serves as a member of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), President of New Hope Group, New Hope Investments, and Sichuan New Hope Agriculture, Chairman of Shandong Liuhe Group, a Supervisor with Minsheng Life Insurance.

DU Liqun, Zhuang ethnicity, a member of the Communist Party of China (CPC), is a member of the 13th and 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), and serves as Head Nurse and Chief Nurse of the AIDS Department at Nanning Fourth People's Hospital in Guangxi. She is also an outstanding student majoring in Administrative Management at Guangxi Open University (OU), enrolled in 2012.

DONG Caiyun, Bao'an ethnicity, is a deputy to both the 13th and 14th National People's Congress (NPC). Currently, she serves as Deputy Director of the Teacher Training Centre in Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province, as well as Vice President of Linxia Open University. In 2019, she was awarded the title of "National Role Model Teacher" by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and the Ministry of Education. In 2022, she was honoured as a "2021 National March 8th Red-Banner Pacesetter".

On 2 March 2026, ZHU Xianbo, an outstanding alumnus of the Open University of China (OUC), was named a 2025 “Great Country Craftsman Person of the Year”, for his exceptional technical achievements and craftsmanship. The selection was jointly organised by the All-China Federation of Trade Unions and China Media Group.

The 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and the 9th Special Olympic Games of the People's Republic of China came to an end in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. With extraordinary perseverance, students from OUC School for the Disabled, interpreted the Special Olympic spirit of "Dare to try, Strive for gain." Eventually, they won 19 gold medals, 10 silver medals and 10 bronze medals, bringing glory to the university and showing the remarkable demeanour of self-improvement and uplifting spirit among disabled university students in the new era.

Beijing, 4 December 2025 - To implement the 2024–2035 Master Plan on Building China into a Leading Country in Education and its accompanying Three-Year Action Plan, the Key Research Base for National Textbook Construction (Comprehensive Research on Continuing Education Textbooks) held its inaugural seminar on high-quality continuing education textbook development at the Open University of China (OUC).
