On 6 November 2024, the Open University of China (OUC) held a workshop on supplementary systems for student-status management in Huaihua, Hunan Province.
The activity aims to further implement the student-status management measures of the OUC and promote the high-quality development of student-status work. Chen Zhiguo, a member of the Party Committee and vice president of Hunan Open University, attended the event. Nearly 30 people participated in it, including department leaders in charge of educational affairs and heads of student-status management departments from 14 branches such as Zhejiang Open University, as well as relevant personnel from the headquarters. The event was presided over by Bao Yunli, deputy director of the Academic Affairs Department of the OUC.
The workshop carried out discussions on supplementary systems for student-status management, such as "The OUC Working Regulations on Graduation Review and Graduation Certificate Issuance Management" and "The OUC Working Regulations on Management of Student Information Change". The participating representatives responded enthusiastically and believed that this event was timely. It not only deepened the understanding of "The OUC Student-Status Management Measures (Trial)", but also jointly analysed the problems and challenges in student-status management work, explored solutions, and put forward relevant suggestions, which promoted the continuous establishment of rules and regulations in student-status management work and its development in a more scientific direction.
The participating representatives unanimously agreed that the formulation and research of supplementary systems for student-status management measures are crucial measures to ensure the standardised development of student-status work and improve students’ satisfaction with services. Student-status management work should implement the guiding principles of the National Conference on Education through practical actions and provide strong support for open education to serve the construction of a learning society where lifelong learning is pursued by all.
