The Open University of China (OUC) hosted its first Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK: Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi) of 2024 on 21 April at its Weigongcun campus.

This examination session included a total of ten tests across HSK levels three to six, along with the Chinese Proficiency Speaking Test (HSKK: Hanyu Shuiping Kouyu Kaoshi) at the primary, intermediate, and advanced levels. Nearly a hundred international students from 38 countries, including Vietnam, Malaysia, Russia, South Korea, and Indonesia, participated in the examination.

The OUC HSK Test Centre, established in November 2013, has catered to a total of 1,773 international students since its inception. In response to the escalating need for Chinese language testing and the pursuit of top-tier examination services, the OUC upgraded its paper-based HSK test to an Internet-based format in early 2024. This inaugural Internet-based HSK examination session witnessed a twofold increase in test-takers than the previous year.
