Recently, the results of the selections for the innovative cases of in-depth integration development of national press and publishing, organised by the China Press and Publishing Media Group, were announced.

The series Graded Chinese Picture Books, published by Beijing Kids Media, a subsidiary of the OUC Publishing & Media Group, was one of the selections.

With changes to reading habits and styles, and the rise and constant upgrading of mobile apps, micro-courses, and short videos developed by software-service providers, the use of mobile terminals now far exceeds that of PCs. The Graded Chinese Picture Books series is designed to take advantage of this trend.    

The series aims to teach Chinese children aged 3-8 their language in  a systematic and immersive way, making the relatively abstract process of learning characters like that of reading a picture book. It teaches about forming habits, nature, festivals, folktales, and other basic materials as a means of teaching characters, aiming to help children progress smoothly from preschool to primary school and from parent-child reading to independent reading.
