On 14 July 2021, Jing Degang, secretary of the Party Committee and president of the Open University of China (OUC), unveiled a plaque marking the Centre for Ideological and Political Education at Yanan Open University.

The centre aims to promote “red” culture and organise related activities, as well as meet the need for a “second classroom” of ideological and political education, fostering moral education and advancing innovative development in this area through practical and high-quality resources and services.
