Yuan Yaxing, director of the Information Technology Department, gave a report on the overall situation of the construction of the "Smart Learning Platform" pilot project from four aspects, including the background, an introduction to the project, the project’s requirements, and the schedule.

He pointed out that information construction is one of the areas that attracts the highest degree of concern and presents the most problems and challenges in the open university system. The work required is tricky and complex and goes far beyond similar work in regular universities. The construction of "Smart Learning Platform," which unifies security management and technical standards and has the ability to serve millions of users concurrently, represents a comprehensive upgrade of the current open university information infrastructure. During the pilot project, the eight branches are expected to successfully complete the pilot work according to their own actual situation, give full play to the advantages of the system as a whole, and strengthen communication.

At the meeting, a demo version of the "Smart Learning Platform" project was presented, and the progress, problems, and solutions of the pilot project were introduced. Eight units involved in the pilot use of the platform gave reports and held discussions about their work plans and arrangements, problems and difficulties in the process of promoting the application of the platform, and suggestions for the further application of the pilot project.

After their discussions, the participants agreed that in the first year of the 14th Five-Year Plan, the discussion and work deployment of the pilot project should be based on the present and look to the future. In order to address the problems encountered during the pilot project, it is important for the OUC headquarters, the companies involved in the pilot project, and the development team to work together and actively promote the pilot work according to the needs of the actual situation. The OUC headquarters will cooperate with project contractors to accelerate research and development work, establish a response mechanism by identifying personnel taking up specific responsibilities, and announce schedules for finding solutions to problems in order to ensure that the expected goals can be achieved. The participants all promised that they would lift up their spirits, use their firm determination and confidence, and make every effort to continue to lead the construction of "Smart Learning Platform" and contribute to the informatisation construction of the OUC school running system.
