Recently, in the 2020 Catalogue of Highly Recommended Publications for Village Libraries, released by the National Press and Publication Administration, two  publications of Multimedia Press of  Publishing & Media Group of the Open University of China (OUC),Low Carbon Transformation for Households and Dialogue on Growth in the Sunlight: A Talk with Parents about the Psychological and Educational Problems of Children, were included on the list of key audio-visual products and electronic publications.

Since its start, the "Village Libraries" project has played an important role in bringing culture to the countryside and enriching the cultural lives of rural residents. Over the years, dozens of OUC Press books, audio-visual products, and electronic publications have been included in the project.

Low-carbon Transformation for Households

What is “low carbon”, and how can we save energy? These are not just concepts, but calls to action, and this project aims to help transform home environments and equipment, as well as habits, so that less power and water are used, solar energy is installed, kitchen waste is composted, and so on. This video course covers both theory and practice in 14 lectures totalling 350 minutes. It has been named a key national audio-visual publication and a part of the 13th Five-year Plan, and gained the support of the National Publishing Fund in 2017.

Dialogue on Growth in the Sunlight: A Talk with Parents about the Psychological and Educational Problems of Children

This project focuses on nine major problems in preschool education, including the parent-child relationship, personality devleopment, and emotional self-management. In these video courses, the problems are raised by parents and discussed with renowned teachers, who offer instruction in relation to understanding, respect, responsibility, criticism and praise, self-control, autism, and other topics, to teach parents how to solve problems and understand the laws of the growth and education of children. The video course consists of 9 episodes covering 270 minutes, and has been named a key national audio-visual publication, and part of the 13th Five-year Plan.
