On 25 March 2021, the Open University of China (OUC) cooperated with Beijing Yuying School to hold training for Mongolian teachers at the invitation of the UNESCO Beijing Office and the Institute of Teachers’ Professional Development of Mongolia (ITPD). The goal of the training was to share experiences and practices of epidemic prevention and control, as well as “undisrupted learning during school closures” in primary and middle schools in the context of COVID-19 in China.
The training was led by Shi Yunzhi, deputy director of the OUC International Department, with Zhao Pingyi, vice principal of Beijing Yuying School, giving a lecture. The training focused on how to take positive action in response to COVID-19, including launching online teaching and practising “undisrupted learning during school closures” in primary and middle schools. Zhao Pingyi introduced the concepts and measures implemented as part of epidemic prevention and control at Beijing Yuying School, the devices, services, and system guarantee for live-streamed online lessons, and the teachers’ experiences of instructing students during their home-based learning.
The teachers from ITPD listened carefully to the lecture and asked questions after the session, which Zhao Pingyi patiently answered. The Mongolian side expressed their willingness to carry forward training and cooperation with the OUC.
