The Open University of China (OUC) officially launched its “e-cert” on the OUC Learning Network of a few days ago, marking the university’s successful application of a new electronic-licensing technology.
In this way, over 1.6 million electronic appointment letters have been distributed to teaching staff throughout the OUC system, helping realise the goal of “using digital data to save students from running errands”.
By the end of 2020, electronic-seal, electronic-license and electronic-invoice technology had been put to use in a number of degree and non-degree programmes, such as for issuing documents within the OUC system, sending electronic admission notices, providing electronic course-completion certificates, and distributing appointment letters to teaching teams.
Over the past year, the OUC has been exploring the use of electronic seals, certificates and invoices, and is now issuing electronic documents within the OUC system; electronic invoices to students; secure electronic course-completion certificates to graduates; secure electronic admission notices to freshmen; and electronic appointment letters to members of teaching teams.
The university plans to continue to expand the use of information technology and of electronic seals, licenses and invoices throughout its programmes in order to ease workloads and enhance efficiency.
