The Science and Engineering sub-committee of the 2nd Academic Committee of the Open University of China (OUC) held a plenary meeting in Tianshui City, Gansu Province, on 16 and 17 November, with 12 members of the sub-committee, and heads of the Faculty of Science and Engineering of the OUC headquarters and Tianjin Branch, attending.
Attendees studied and discussed the OUC Comprehensive Reform Plan issued by the Ministry of Education. Members of the OUC sub-committee discussed what they had learned from the plan, the measures they had taken to implement it in their branches, their experiences doing so, and their assessment of its effects. Luo Ji, vice chair of the sub-committee, reported on the process of constructing the undergraduate major at Yunnan Radio and Television University, and presented monographs to the sub-committee. The sub-committee also investigated the operation of the Tianshui division at the OUC’s Gansu Branch, and discussed the draft of the university’s 14th Five-Year Plan.
