On the list of “excellent intellectuals” for October 2020, released recently by Tencent News, Zhu Qizhen, Kong Xiangbin and Zhu Junfeng, distinguished professors in the Quality Lectures by Famous Teachers programme of the Open University of China (OUC), were named.

After the United Nations World Food Programmme won the Nobel Peace Prize for 2020 on 9 October, the OUC Faculty of Agroforestry and Medicine and OUC Multimedia Press decided to invite the professors to participate in the activity organized by Tencent. As the main lecturers in Open Discussion of Grain and Food Safety, one of the series of Quality Lectures by Famous Teachers, they have discussed the topic with Tencent subscribers on the Tencent News platform, and published three articles about the World Food Programmme to enthusiastic response.

This has also helped OUC leaders promote the Open Discussion of Grain and Food Safety and the lecture series, which the OUC Learning Resources Department (Digital Library) will continue to support.
