In October 2020, the digital library of the Open University of China (OUC) launched its alumni-service system for its 15.12 million graduates, providing digital-library resources and services.
OUC alumni simply need to log onto the webpage of library.ouchn.edu.cn and click on Alumni Services to have their identities certified, and gain access to the OUC’s digital-library resources and services any time, from any location. This marks a dramatic expansion of these services, which had been available to over 4 million faculty and students nationwide since 2012.
Recent developments have enabled OUC faculty and students all over the country to gain access 24/7 to the digital-library services by visiting information systems such as the OUC service platform or the off-campus distance-visit VPN, and through authentication conducted jointly by the OUC Learning Network and the OA platform.
In addition, the OUC Learning Resources Department (Digital Library) has completed the OUC Smart-library Construction plan designed to enhance both services and access to resources while offering precise matching of learners and learning resources, so as to make the OUC library a leading smart library for the benefit of all learners.
