Profile:

Wang Yucheng, Han ethnicity and a member of the Communist Party of China (CPC), majored in law at the Anjie School, Zhejiang Open University, in 2008.

He is currently serving as a deputy to the 14th National People's Congress (NPC) and as a standing committee member of Tian Huangping Town, Anji County, Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province. He holds the position of a third-class principal staff member and is the Party Branch Secretary in Yucun Village, where he also serves as the director of the village committee.

Wang Yucheng, a native of Yucun Village, took on the role of secretary for the Party branch there in June 2019. In addition to his duties as secretary, Wang, who is also a deputy to the NPC, has focused on strategies to help more people achieve prosperity. He suggested to the town's Party Committee the creation of a company in partnership with neighbouring villages, aiming to transform Yucun Village into a thriving marketplace and create a ripple effect of economic growth. By 2023, this initiative had generated over 200 jobs across all involved villages. Simultaneously, Yucun Village established partnerships with nine villages in Sichuan and Xijiang, assisting them in marketing local specialties that generated more than 5 million Yuan in sales. Through sharing valuable experiences, they have guided many towards pursuing their happiness.

During his tenure, Wang Yucheng discovered through research visits that the grassroots officials lacked accurate and comprehensive understanding of the scientific implications of the "Zhejiang Green Rural Revival Programme." Furthermore, he noted that the programme's progress was hampered by several issues, including insufficient investment in village construction, unclear distribution of powers and responsibilities among functional departments, and a shortage of skilled talent.

This year, Wang Yucheng proposed the development of regulations for promoting the "Zhejiang Green Rural Revival Programme." This initiative aims to address the absence of guiding laws and regulations for the programme, offering legal assurances to expedite the modernisation of agriculture and rural affairs.

In addressing concerns such as reducing the cost of child-rearing, boosting the bamboo industry, and enhancing the high-quality development of the county's economy, Wang Yucheng submitted proposals titled “Proposal on Strengthening Childbearing Support Policy” and “Proposal on Providing Support Policies for Production Factors to Promote the High-Quality Development of the Bamboo Industry.” Additionally, a “Proposal on Comprehensively Deepening the Reform of Bamboo Forests Carbon Sink and Promoting Green, Low-carbon, High-Quality Development of the County Economy” was presented.
