In order to strengthen the construction of the teaching staff for the finance major, improve the level of expertise, and increase the teaching ability and level of the teachers, OUC conducted a senior seminar for core teachers of the finance major from 11-15th June 2018. Forty-six teachers from the finance major from 27 branches attended the seminar and completed the courses. Liu Chen, vice president of the OUC, issued course completion certificates to the trainees.

From 12 - 13 June, 2018, the OUC's 2018 enrolment conference was held in Ningbo, Zhejiang province. At the conference, the OUC summarised the enrolment work for spring 2018, initiated the work for fall 2018, analysed and set out to implement the proposals on improving continuing education of the 19th National Congress of the CPC, put forward measures to standardise enrollment work, studied related enrollment-management regulations, and so on.

With the rapid development of society, the spread of information has accelerated. Today, data has penetrated every industry and every field of business and has become a major production factor. Big data has been in use for some time in the industries of finance, communication, and logistics. However, their application in education is relatively lacking. Against the background of using big data to develop new businesses and innovating operational modes in all industries, how should the education industry drive the development of education in China in order to enter the new big data era?

In recent years, face-to-face tutorial classes have been inadequately attended. The low number of clicks on online teaching resources and low quality postings in the BBS on online teaching activities remain one of the most urgent problems in open education and teaching at Xi’an Radio and TV University (RTVU).

The power of a teacher derives from a noble morality, loyalty to teaching as a career, and unselfish affection for his or her students. Zhang Qiong started her teaching career at Hengyang Radio and Television University (Hengyang RTVU) after graduating from college in 2003. Over the past 15 years, she has been deeply involved in both her teaching and in teaching reform and management. Highly motivated, her goals are to apply teaching theory to her practical work and to constantly improve her political literacy.

The 19th CPC National Congress has stated that“socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era of new aspirations and deeds”; that we “should improve vocational education and training systems through networks and continuing education”; and that we“should speed up the construction of a society in which learning is normal for everyone”as the basis for furthering community education in the new era.
