Shaanxi RTVU’s Xincheng Branch School recently held a traditional Han Chinese clothing and etiquette event with the theme “A Feast for Gentlemen”.
The event was split into six sections, including lectures on Han clothing, a demonstration of Han clothing across the ages, a demonstration of a coming-of-age ceremony, a demonstration of a Han wedding ceremony, a drinking ceremony, and a buffet. During the event, the teachers and students wore traditional Han clothing and accessories, and followed traditional Han etiquette. The event combined a sense of solemnity with a lively atmosphere, climaxing with drinks and a buffet.
The students commented that the event helped them to get a sense of the majesty and depth of Chinese culture throughout the ages.
This was the first traditional Han Chinese clothing and etiquette experience held by Shaanxi RTVU. The Xincheng Branch School hoped to use the event as an opportunity to try out innovative teaching practices, develop an interest in traditional Chinese culture among adult students, and contribute to the maintenance of traditional cultural practices.
