Beijing, 2 March — The All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) held a commemorative meeting and awards ceremony for International Women's Day in Beijing. Professor GAO Ying from Jiangxi Open University (OU) was honoured as a National March 8th Red-Banner Holder for 2025for her long-standing commitment to women's development and lifelong learning for all. It also signifies a milestone in the faculty development of open universities in China.

Aligned with the primary mission in lifelong education, Professor GAO has dedicated herself to empowering women through a comprehensive career education system. She co-founded the Jiangxi Women's Career Education Practice Promotion Association and initiated the Women's Career Planning and Development Competition—a career education initiative covering women's full life cycle (education - career - family - retirement). Both initiatives are the first of their kind nationwide. As the founder of this model, Professor GAO has been invited multiple times to deliver lectures on "Women's Life-Cycle Career Education Based on Lifelong Learning" at the Women's Leadership Training Workshop hosted by the Ministry of Commerce. Her lectures have received widespread acclaim and high praise, providing new theoretical perspectives and practical references for advancing innovative education for women and building a lifelong learning system.

Professor GAO remains committed to fostering virtue through education. She has actively nurtured students through frontline teaching, pursued cutting-edge research innovations; and contributed extensively to social services. Her exemplary deeds fully demonstrate the dedication and pursuit of excellence embodied by Open University faculty and staff, setting a role model for educators. Her contributions inspire more educators to forge ahead in the new era and to advance the vision of a learning society and a leading country in education through lifelong learning.
