On the morning of 12 October 2018, a strategic cooperation agreement was signed between Lishui Municipal People's Government and Zhejiang Radio and TV University (Zhejiang RTVU) at the conference room of the municipal government of Lishui.
On behalf of their respective sides, vice mayor of Lishui Municipal People's Government, Lu Cailiu, and president of Zhejiang RTVU, Ye Hong, signed the Strategic Cooperation Agreement, which aims to build a learning society and lifelong education system with Lishui characteristics and joint promote the transformation and development of Lishui RTVU. Lin Yu, vice president of the Open University of China (OUC), and Xu Gongfang, secretary of the Party committee of Zhejiang RTVU, attended the signing ceremony.
In his speech, Lin Yu hoped that the two sides would give full play to their respective advantages, jointly promote the transformation and development of Lishui RTVU, and strive to make it Lishui RTVU a core pillar of lifelong education and the service platform of lifelong learning in Lishui. By doing so, they will make greater contributions to promoting the creation of a comprehensive reform and innovation zone for green development in Zhejiang (Lishui) and the construction of the "Zhejiang Grand Garden” core area, and accelerate the construction of a learning society and lifelong education system.
The signing of the cooperation agreement is part of the Lishui Municipal Government and Zhejiang RTVU’s commitment to carrying out the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China with regards to "successfully operating continuing education, speeding up the construction of a learning society, and vigorously improving the quality of the people", which marks a new stage of development in the cooperation between the Municipal Government and Zhejiang RTVU.
Next, Lishui Municipal Government and Zhejiang RTVU will take the signing of this Agreement as an opportunity to give full play to their respective advantages in policies, funding, technology, information, and talents based on the principles of "sincere cooperation, equality and reciprocity, pragmatism and efficiency, complementing each other with advantages and common development" and in accordance with the principle of "based on the current situations, oriented to long-term development, focusing on key points and gradual development.” It aims to further promote the transformation and development of Lishui RTVU and provide professional personnel and intellectual support for the economic and social development of Lishui.
The Lishui Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government have always attached great importance to the development of educational undertakings and have always given priority to education. Lishui RTVU, as one of three universities in Lishui, has trained more than 50,000 practical and applicable professional for all walks of life in the past 40 years, which has contributed to the economic construction and social development of Lishui.
In recent years, Lishui RTVU has actively explored transformation and development, accelerated the construction of an open university, and successfully operated academic continuing education. With the aim of becoming a first class training base in the city, it has strengthened the construction of training facilities, promoted rural and community education and education for the elderly, and provided support for the construction of a learning society at Lishui, which has better met the diverse and individualised learning needs of different members of society.
