As of March 24, 2016, “Hebei Lifelong Learning Online” has reached a total of five million clicks.
“Hebei Lifelong Learning Online” is a digital public service platform providing community education for rural and urban residents in Hebei province. Developed by Hebei RTVU, it integrates the community education learning model of both online self-directed learning and offline face-to-face group tutoring. Since its launch on September 29, 2013, it has developed into a comprehensive remote public service platform featuring integrated construction at provincial and municipal levels, whilst successfully enabling resource sharing and data exchange between platforms at both provincial and municipal levels.
Adhering to the principle of “Novelty, Practicality, Abundance and Quality”, “Hebei Lifelong Learning Online” develops its online course resources into a mega supermarket of digital learning resources for residents in the province. So far, over 15,000 course resources, mainly in the form of videos and animations, have been uploaded onto the platform, which has been warmly welcomed by local residents, with its daily click rate rising from 1000 to over 20,000.
In addition, “Hebei Lifelong Learning Online” has also been actively involved in recording the development of provincial community education in a variety of ways, including the confirmation of a provincial community education experimental base and experimental projects, fostering financial support for the provincial education department, and being involved in the process of establishing the provincial community education organizational structure as well as its gradual improvement, i.e. successive establishment of municipal community education guidance centres, community education schools (branch schools) etc. They have also provided a platform for the national lifelong learning activity week for three consecutive years，ran the first Hebei RTVU system community micro-course contest, and organized training for municipal community education schools (branch schools) at different levels.
