To further propel the “Development Plan for Farmer College Students” and showcase the spirit of new farmer college students, Yueyang RTVU held a speech contest for “New Farmer College Students,” and the final contest concluded on December 4, 2015.

The contest was sponsored by Yueyang CPC Municipal Committee’s Organization Department, undertaken by Yueyang RTVU, and co-organized by the Yueyang Municipal Education and Sports Bureau, Yueyang Municipal Financial Bureau, and Yueyang Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau.

A total of 12 contestants from the Yueyang RTVU headquarters, branches, and tutorial centres from Pingjiang RTVU, Xianglin RTVU, Xiangyin RTVU, Huarong RTVU, and Yueyang RTVU were selected as finalists. More than 400 students and faculty watched the contest. The 12 contestants all came from administrative villages belonging to Yueyang City, from various walks of life. Some of them are plain Village Secretaries working in their hometowns, self-reliant start-up entrepreneurs, accomplished female workers, or perseverant social security workers, providing a diverse panoramic picture of contemporary farmer college students who root themselves in their villages, serving grassroots communities and pursuing their ideals with wisdom and passion.

Intense competition finally gave way to clear winners. First prizes were awarded to Chen Zhengmao from Huarong RTVU and Zhou Yonglu from Linxiang RTVU, second prize to Xu Tiyu from Pingjiang RTVU, third prize to Luo Dan from Yueyang RTVU, and a prize of Excellence to Yang Biao and others from the headquarters of Yueyang RTVU.
