On November 5, 2015, a writing base was officially established at Sichuan Radio and Television University (Sichuan RTVU). Chairman of Sichuan Writing Association and Professor from the School of Literature and Journalism at Sichuan University, Gan Tianquan, presided at the unveiling ceremony for the establishment of the writing base. 

Founded in the 1980s, Sichuan Writing Association is a large-scale professional academic organization for the discipline of writing. Over the past 30 years the Association has carried out a lot of academic exchanges across Sichuan Province, making positive contributions to the creation of teaching materials for writing at universities,reform in teaching methodologies, and learner development in writing. The Association has made remarkable achievements in literature creation,  journalistic writing, and practical writing. It has played a positive role in promoting the establishment of the discipline of writing at universities in Sichuan Province. To improve the teaching level of writing, Sichuan RTVU applied to the Association in order to establish “Sichuan Writing Association's Writing Base for Sichuan RTVU”.  

Vice President of Sichuan RTVU, Liu Chunlong, heads of related departments, and representative tutors from 28 local RTVUs participated in the opening ceremony.
